The End of Year Update from UH Mānoa Musicology area
The long 2020 brought many ups and downs as we all stared into small cameras, hoping to connect with each other from our bedrooms, our kitchens, and our small (but private) closets. What stood out to me most was the enormous effort that my students made to show up, participate, and engage in a world that was new to all of us. Amidst all that was sent their way, it was their willingness to sign in and do the work that kept me waking up early to make their online platforms of learning as bearable as possible.
It seemed appropriate to laude their efforts in a formal end-of-the-year update which was posted on the UH Music Department website. Bravi tutti to all who completed course work with rigor and a good sense of humor!
